I was honored to be featured in the Design Museum of Chicago’s exhibit The Correct Time, which brought together twenty-four artists to reimagine different hours of the day. Each of us was assigned a single hour and asked to interpret it with complete creative freedom—our only limitation was using just two colors
My hour was 3 a.m.—often called the witching hour, when ghosts, anxieties, and restless thoughts feel most alive. I approached it as a study of sleeplessness and overthinking. At the center of my design is a solitary eye inside a clock face—always open, always watching. Radiating lines capture the fatigue of a restless mind, while fragmented text across the face reflects the intrusive thoughts and spiraling worries that keep us awake at night.
This piece challenged me to distill big emotions into minimal form, blending symbolism and restraint into a striking visual narrative.
